I was gladdened to hear Mr. Hinterberger is not dead and even more happy to hear that he is alive. We met once, briefly, at Hinterberger Alley, an occasion memorialized in my personal files but not his, no doubt. I relished his reviews in the Times those many years, and for all the pleasure and interest he granted to my taste I wish him well in his endeavors under this and all suns.

Hinterberger's clam sauce reigns supreme in our household. I am making it tonight on the sudden and unexpected arrival of my son and daughter and some of their mutual friends from school. Into the cupboard for the clams and spaghetti, through the bowels of the freezer for some frozen shrimp, onions, garlic, olive oil... aaaah. Security is Hint's recipie ingredients when a sudden crowd shows up. My recipie is a Xerox (actually!!!) of the article from the March 30th, 1980 Seattle Times... and that was a reprint!!! Glad to know you're doing well.

WELL! I'm certainly glad to hear that Mr. Hinterberger is alive and well. I loved his reviews and especially his radio show. I remember driving to work when he told of his first hot tub experience. Here I was driving down Central in Kent laughing so hard I was crying! And I still make his Clam Spaghetti regularly. Everyone I make it for asks for the recipe.

Take care,
Diana Walton

Great Blog! I am Hinterberger's youngest child and I can absolutely assure everyone that he is alive and well. In fact, he got quite a kick out of the whole thing.
